The Legend Of Tarzan

STORYLINE

David Yates is the director of the 2016 action adventure movie The Legend of Tarzan. Several years have passed since the events of the first Tarzan novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs when the story begins. Here is a quick synopsis of the movie's plot:

Alexander Skarsgrd's portrayal of Tarzan, also known as John Clayton III, leaves the African jungle to assume his ancestor's title of Lord Greystoke in England at the start of the movie. He is wed to Jane Porter, who is portrayed by Margot Robbie, and the couple resides in London.

In the meantime, Chief Mbonga (Djimon Hounsou) and the villainous Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) agree to deliver Tarzan in return for diamonds in the Belgian Congo. Rom intends to use the diamonds to settle a debt from the conflict and strengthen his position.

Tarzan is persuaded to travel back to the Congo by George Washington Williams (Samuel L. Jackson), an American diplomat, who is unaware of Rom's hidden objectives. Williams wants Tarzan to look into reports of slavery and exploitation. Jane and Williams are present, and Tarzan unwillingly consents.

In a pivotal conflict, Tarzan faces up against Rom, who has kidnapped Jane and intends to use her as bait. Tarzan beats Rom and saves Jane with the aid of his pals. In the end, he accepts his dual identity as Tarzan and Lord Greystoke and finds a home in both.
